Hogarths Hotel Wedding Photography – Naomi and Trent – Solihull

Hogarths Hotel Wedding Photography by wedding and portrait photographer Steven Rooney.

Naomi and Trent were married at Solihull Methodist church in May of this year. Their reception was held at Hogarths Hotel, also in Solihull. I travelled down the night before the wedding to avoid any traffic problems and to familiarise myself with the area. Naomi and Trent were blessed with a gloriously sunny day for the wedding which really showed of the beauty of the area and allowed for some lovely light under the canopy of the trees at the reception.

 A photographer’s view

The day went smoothly with Naomi getting ready at her parents house not too far away from the church. The church itself was bright and airy and gave enough light to photography the service without the use of any additional lighting. The couple were bombarded with confetti on their way out of the church which always produces some fun images. After that it was off to Hogarths Hotel for the reception.

At Hogarths Hotel wedding photography is such a pleasure. There are hundreds of different options across the acres of grounds including an island on a small lake at the bottom of an extensive lawn. To one side there is a wooded area which was covered in bluebells. And to the front of the building there is a tree lined driveway. Inside the venue the rooms are well lit and decorated in a modern style. The reception was held in a marquee which needed some additional fill lighting to reach the back of the room where the top table was. This was achieved by using two speedlites off camera to each side of the room, on a low enough porwe so as to provide just enough light to balance the exposure across the room.
